I've got all the checkmarks on the website for my application and documents so now it's just waiting time. UMD is one of my top choices and I think I have a decent chance.....anyone have a feel for when they start letting us know? I'm seeing so many other boards reporting acceptances so I'm anxious to hear from UMD.

Last year we heard on January 30 online. The letter came a few days later.

The forums you are seeing with acceptances usually do a rolling admission. UMDCP is firm when they say Feb. Traditionally, it is a few days prior to the date they list, but you will not see people finding out in Nov. or Dec or even early Jan.

You have about 3 months to wait.

Good luck.

I visited UMCP last weekend with my daughter. Admissions people were talking about notifications in the last few days of January for those students who meet the priority deadline of Nov. 1.

End of January. Last year we heard a few days before the posted date. Keep up with the forum, and you’ll know the day. It gets pretty exciting/stressful if you come from a maryland public school

I’m from CT…do they release decisions to MD students first?

No. Everyone hears the same day. You get an e-mail about it, plus last year people on here said (as the date got much closer) they heard they were coming out that day, so I checked the application status thing or whatever and saw it.

This site will light up like a Christmas tree when it comes out. I have been a member for @3 yrs. DS was at school when people started posting, I texted him for his password and chimed into the site. He found out he was in while he was in APLIT.

That being said, the bulk do come out on one day, but UMD is notorious for having acceptances come out over a 72 hr period, with them posting at this time no decision has been made. I have yet to find anyone who understands the rhyme or reason why, because even MD residents are on the tail end.

Good luck.
