Evolution should be taught in schools

Evolution is not a belief system. It's a scientific theory. One aspect of it -- the origin of species -- touches upon one point that most religions try to answer: "Where did we come from?" Evolution is not a counterpoint or a rebuttal to religious views of creation. And it is not a religion. The notion that equity or fairness requires schools to teach religion because they teach evolution is absurd. Evolution is about much more than the origin of species. Religion -- well any religion worth its salt -- is about much more than answering "where did we come from?" If you set aside that one question, the vast knowledge relating to Evolution does not overlap with the vast teachings of spiritual/religious belief systems. Substantively, they're as similar as Psychology is to Calculus. Yet people seem to confuse one for the other. How that happens can only be explained by ignorance. Which is the source of most of the world's ills, so it should be no surprise that all the angst and conflict and anger over evolution v. creationism is rooted in ignorance.
