I'm really want to apply to Yale SCEA, but I have a question about my chances.

I'm at the top 5 % of my class (7 out of more than 1,100 students)
4.0 gpa UW and 4.68 W
all A's in AP's and honors
part of the gymnastics national team
and much more... but i won't list all of that now.

But the only problem is I pretty much suck at standardized testing...

i feel confident about my school grades and EC's but I just don't know how much my SAT scores will hinder my chances.

So far, I have
ACT : 33
Sat I: 2100
SAT II's: U.S. History- 700
Math II-750
Math I-720 (don't ask why math 2 is higher?!)
French-690

I'm taking the SAT I again in october, but I just want to know how much my tests will count when applying. Thanks!

Well, your rank is much higher than 5%, right? Seven out of 1,100 is great! SAT scores are dependent on your demographical information. Rich, poor, competitive High School, Alumni, and race all determine how important the SAT will be considered. Your ACT is good, I've seen someone (not URM) get into Yale with that ACT and a lower SAT. Raise your SAT History and French. Also, Math II is higher than Math I because it has a more generous curve. In fact, your percentile score is probably higher for your Math I than your Math II.

Finally, if you come from a rather underpriviledged public school (whether heavily rural or urban) with a very low SAT school average in comparison to the national rank, your SAT will be given some slack. YOU MUST HAVE A GUIDANCE COUNSELOR NOTE THIS IN YOUR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION!! In fact use all the letters of recommendation to slip in little cues about your demographics that may be of benefit to your admission. Post this information here as well.

Don't worry about your scores LittleLis. I think your high gpa and national recognition will make those scores competitive enough

Get recruited. If you're part of a national team, then you should definitely talk to the Yale gymnastics coach.

Mr. Pink is right. With that level of achievement, Yale gymnastics will definitely want you. Just email the coach and give him or her your grade point average, SAT scores and tell them that you are on the national team and I am sure they will advocate for your acceptance. Can you compete on the college level if you are national? If not, perhaps they would want you even to help with training
