EXACTLY how long does rush reports take?

I'm kinda in a screwd up position right now. I rushed my report to stanford on Dec 19, and apparantly they didn't receive it. Now i have until next wednesday to send them the official reports or else its withdrawal!

Collegeboard says it takes 2 business days to rush... which means it'll get there on the 14 or 15... am i screwed???

You should contact Stanford directly and talk it over on the phone. It is not a good idea to rush scores to colleges. The colleges usually get your scores via an electronic transfer. Rush scores are mailed in envelopes and then have to be opened and filed by the college. Someone had a thread last week where one of the ivies (Yale?) said on their website that they refused to take rush scores. Stanford on their website stops short of saying that they won't take them, but says "Rush reports are not necessary if you arrange for the testing agency to send us your scores by our application deadline." in several places. You should contact Stanford and explain the problem and see what they will do. It is possible that they will receive the scores via the normal electronic transfer. I suppose it wouldn't hurt at this point to rush them again.

CB is not completely forthcoming on their website about this. To be fair, rushing scores to a smaller college such as a LAC is probably okay.

Columbia does not take Rush scores and tells student not to send rush scores.

well heres the situation. I DID arrange to have my reports sent to stanford when i registered for my last SAT. This method seems to have worked for every other university that i've applied to. EXCEPT STANFORD. not to mention i even included the paper copy of the score report along with my application package (don't ask why)

It seems likely that Stanford lost it in their mail room. You need to talk to them on the phone. They are not wanting to drop your application because of this. Talk to them in terms of it being a problem that needs to be solved, and find out what you have to do.

IVYPoison- I sympathize, as the same thing happened to us with another college. The CB sent all the scores to son's colleges back in October, they have the verification on their site, and all the other schools received them. You need to consider that the school may have lost or misfiled the scores and it may not be the fault of CB.
What we did after consulting our college counselor is have the high school fax a copy of the scores to the college. (have them call Stanford and tell them they are doing this for you) This is still considered an official copy like a transcript, and satisfied the college. Our counselor handled it the same day my son contacted her, and two days later the college website said the scores had been received.
We'll never know what happened to the scores - stuff happens.
Talk to your college counselor or registrar Monday morning and ask them to do this for you asap. Then check back and make sure they did.

some schools, when they say to send in your scores by Dec 15, for example, don't mean the 15th EXACTLY. There is some leeway. I had mine rushed the 14th and contacted Carnegie Mellon's admissions office, and they said that it was fine; it would be added to my file as soon as they got it. they weren't going to just toss it since it was a day late. as long as they had all my other required items, I was good to go :)

Stanford's RD deadline was 12/15 and so they are following up on applications that are not complete and therefore something that they don't have to look at them anymore. If you are in touch with the school, have a good reason for why the app is still incomplete, and are working on completing it; then I can't see them just pulling the plug even if it takes a day or two longer.
