Exactly how much of a disadvantage does being out of state have for the UCs?

It's a well known fact that the UCs are mainly for the California residents and that being out of state provides a disadvantage. I just wanted to know is it a lot? Do I have to go way beyond a local resident to get accepted, especially into schools like LA and Berkeley? (I'm from Nevada)

i'm a berkeley student so i don't know much about LA's numbers, but in terms of total enrollment (not admission rate), 91% instate, 7% outstate, 2% international is roughly the current number. it's usually a 90-8-2 ratio.

its really tough for out of state students ESP at LA and Berkeley.

Anyone else know too?

UCs aren't worth bending over backwards to get into out of state, except for Berkeley and LA. And at Berkeley, they make it ridiculously hard for out of staters and same with LA. Look somewhere else for out of state too...Michigan and UVa are more accepting of out of staters....:D
