will we hear???

mailed the 28th i believe, so depending on where you live, it will be around that date

i was told when i went to a college night with my sister (she's a soph) that they are mailed the 26th by a rep.

aggg! thats tomorrow!!!

i called and they said they were mailing it the 28th therefore i would not get your hopes up thinking that it is mailed before then. think of it as a nice surprise if you hear back earlier

I will only get my mail up until the 30th before I leave for 9 days w/o contact to my mail. I'm going to go absolutely crazy if I get some of my other decisions before then when this is really the only one I really want to hear about. Not looking good though...

There was an article in The Hustler today that said letters were sent out via 2-day priority mail today

here's the article from Monday's (3/26/07) InsideVandy

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions sent out acceptance and rejection letters to the incoming freshman class today through two-day priority mail.

This year's accepted class, the most competitive in school history, was selected from the largest pool of applications ever sent to the university, said Dean of Admissions Douglas Christiansen.

The acceptance letters will arrive in newly formulated packets that consolidate all of the informational materials sent as separate mailings in past years.

Thanks, Silversparkles and PapaChicken. It doesn't make the waiting any easier, but at least we now know the letters are on the way.

2-day Priority mail.....that means that I will receive it the same day as Duke decisions or out or under worst circumstances on the 29th......aghhhhhh.

Same day as Ivy's. What fun...

O_O!!!! I'll be away starting the 31st for a week so I was expecting to have to wait another week if they were sent the 28th, so I hadn't even considered I could possibly get it this week. Ahhh freaking out just a little bit!! :) (hopefully lol).

Do they come with the financial package?

"The acceptance letters will arrive in newly formulated packets that consolidate all of the informational materials sent as separate mailings in past years."

^ Quoted from the article. It isn't definitive, but my guess is yes.

i wish i didn't read this! i'm going to be spazzing out even more now. i just hope it comes tomorrow (good shot considering i'm in wv). i can't take any more waiting. my patience has run out!

According to Priority Mail from "USPS,"
Priority Mail is predominantly a two/three-day ground and air product. The vast majority of Priority Mail is scheduled for ~delivery within two days~, with some volume delivered overnight. Priority Mail rates can be determined by weight and travel distance or by using Priority Mail products which have a fixed rate regardless of distance. A number of ZIP Codes with limited volume are not measured. During the previous quarter, retail Priority Mail with an overnight scheduled delivery was 91% on-time, and ~within two-day scheduled delivery was 92% on-time~. Three-day delivery is not currently measured in a similarly robust manner as it is approximately 3% of Priority Mail volume.
