Exaggerating extracurriculars?

So I accidentally posted this in the wrong section, but I'm a relative newbie here so I couldn't figure out how to change it... I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be posting the same thing twice, but I'm going to anyway- sorry!

So here's the situation: I'm co-president of a club, and we spend about an hour a week for meetings and events. That's what I put in the activity section of Common App. The problem is, the other co-president decided to put in 2 hours per week because he doesn't have many other extracurriculars.

I tried to convince him to change it, and it didn't go well. We're applying to some of the same schools, and I'm afraid that if I don't exaggerate my participation in the club like he did, it'll seem as though I laid back while he did all of the work.

My question, essentially, is two-fold: what would you do in a situation like this, and how many of you have felt pressured to (or have actually decided to) exaggerate in the extracurricular section because others are doing the same?

Tell the truth and put 1 hour. Colleges can figure out the time students spend in each speficic club. They might contact your school too. Furthermore, president of a club does not mean much if the club does not have helpful activities.
