Exam Advice

I plan on applying to UCSD in the Division of Biological Sciences. I read that it was recommended that "Math Level 2 and a science test related to intended major" be taken. The thing is I have already taken the SAT II exam for U.S. History (730) and Molecular Biology (740). And I am currently enrolled in AP Calculus BC in my senior year (if that means anything).

The question is should I still take the Math Level 2 SAT II exam or is this "recommendation" regularly ignored? Also, if the result of my math exam is worse than my other two SAT II tests, does that mean the school will ignore my history exam and consider the "math and science test?"

Any relevant advice for a future pre-med student at San Diego will help also help. Thanks. :)

i would take the exam…i mean what is it going to hurt? 25 bucks and 4 hours on a saturday? you can retake the bio, or take the other bio type with it.

i would just really recommend taking math lvl 2 exam

I guess you can take it, but don’t be stressed about doing well. UC’s look at only your highest SAT II’s, and your history and bio scores are well above the averages already.

But remember that the bio majors are now impacted, so doing well on history and bio may be good enough for admission to UCSD but not necessarily for getting his major of choice. I would say take it, just in case. I don’t know if it’ll make much of a difference, but better safe than sorry.
