what is the minimum SAT score that will stand a chance to get into a 7 or 8 year program. Lets say the gpa and rank and stuff are along the same lines as all the other applicants, but there is a lot of EC's that have to do with medicine that show intrest in wanting to be a doctor.

From what I am hearing, you should probably have at least a 2100 to probably even be looked at for the programs.

i think most colleges are just gonna use the 1600 scale and add up the CR and Math sections...so the min would be like 1400

so for the SAT is 2150 or 1380 too low for the top prograams GWU HMPE and the rest.....what about ACT.....is 32 too low?

1380, from what i've seen, is too low. For the big programs a 1420+ is standard.

In the requirement sections, most schools still list the SAT scores on the 1600 scale. Will most of these med programs be looking at just M + CR? or will they look at M + CR + W and then convert it into the old SAT scale?

does anyone know how any school in particular will be using the scores?

I think it depends on what other stuff you have like ecs and whatever. I have seen people with 1350 get in. and those with much higher get rejected. I think a 1400 is good for most. The programs usually use their minimum as a cutoff and then above they look at other things. Most publish a required nubmer or a suggestion.

i too would like to kno

I'd bet it's going to just be m + v.

is it ok if you havent taken the sat 2 chemistry (but biology instead) if youre applying to those 6/7/8 year med programs? do any REQUIRE chemistry?

Which programs in particular are you looking at? I'm pretty sure Boston University specifies chemistry, whereas U of Rochester says either bio or chem.

Does anyone know if you need SAT II's for UIC GPPA (University of Illinois at Chicago Guaranteed Professional Programs Admission)? They have an 8 year BS/MD program.

ive already taken the old SAT once and the NEW sat twice, my highest combined being a 2150 (700W 710CR 740M) and highest single sitting 2100 (same except 640W). Should i retake the SAT for these programs (GPA 3.85uw, ok EC'c) or will four times be too many?

What's a good score on the ACT for the 6/7/8 year programs?

ahh why are these threads being combined?

at least a 34 composite I think

i know sum dont accept the ACT because they require u submit sum SAT II's and they dont allow the ACT to substitute for it...double check your school

i know that universities that have the accelerated med programs used to require the SAT II in writing, but do they still require it? i've checked on some sites, and i've seen that northwestern and boston do not require it, yet george washington does.

well theres no such thing as SAT II writing anymore, so it must mean they require that you take the NEW SAT test which includes the writing portion

thanks for the reply, but has GWU not updated their site?
