Ok, first things first…I have to get accepted.
if by some awesome chance, I get accepted, the next concern for me,like most, would be financial aid.

Brown is THE PERFECT school for me. It would be terrible to not be able to pay for it after being accepted.

Current students------What were your financial packages like?

It would be very helpful if you posted your family’s income bracket and EFC (expected family contribution). Were you happy with your financial aid package?

You can look on Brown’s financial aid page to see examples of financial aid packages for various scenarios. I don’t know how many people would want to post their details, to tell you the truth, and I don’t really know if you would learn anything more from specific situations than you can learn from the hypotheticals that Brown illustrates. We were very happy and grateful for our aid. I would say that one of the given examples fit our profile pretty accurately.

Specific situations can be realllly misleading. If you have a typical type situation (i.e. you’re the only one in school, or your siblings are going to comparably expensive schools, and your parents don’t have interesting places to pile value away), the examples and guidelines should be pretty accurate. I don’t fit the examples, because my sister’s school is so much less expensive for her than Brown is for me, but because she was in school we got something from it, etc., so every year it feels like a crapshoot as to what I’m actually going to get (and the fact that my parents’ income fluctuated a good deal the last couple years only makes it worse).

How about you give an idea of your family income bracket and EFC. Then people who have relevant experience can PM you.
