Hi,

For my essay, I understand that we need to use strong, well-known, but non cliched examples. I can link a lot of the prompts to messages or motifs in this manga/anime called "Naruto". Would using examples from Naruto be good for the SAT essay?

Thanks!

It’d be okay.

Just make up a book title, change character names, and pretend it’s an actual book. The actual content can stay the same.

You’re better off using works of outstanding literary merit (or made up books that seem like they fit this characteristic) than movies/shows.

all right, thanks!

The suggestion to “make up examples” is floated on this forum from time to time. Not only does this approach lack academic integrity but it can easily backfire. There are no shortage of excellent examples – from history, fiction, current events and personal experience – for the SAT essay prompts. Use some of these.
