A few years ago we discovered the Kirkland Museum in Denver. It’s close to the Denver Art Museum, but smaller and in “salon style”. It includes artwork (and studio) of Colorado artist Vance Kirkland and much more.
Special bonus - adjacent parking is easy and affordable. The museum visit takes about an hour, but you can stay longer and sightsee elsewhere.
