Excessive Hours and out of state tuition

Does anyone know about this? Section 54.014, Texas Education Code.

Basically, if you go over your degree plan by 30 hours, they will start charging you out-of-state tuition. I was wondering how this works with double majors and AP credits.

For AP just don’t claim the credit you don’t need

Thank you for your post gschoen.
I claimed everything I needed for my degree already. It ended up being 34 hours. I didn’t hear about this rule until recently. Otherwise, I would have only claimed classes needed as prerequisites for other classes.

from what i’ve been told, they have yet to enforce that rule. i was worried about the same thing. double majors get to have more hours, though.
