Excited?

Thread has been quiet compared to other schools, I presume because Hamilton is so small. Is anyone definitely going if they get in?

I was until I got my Colgate rejection letter 20 minutes ago. Now i’m scared to check and just feeling really disheartened. It’s my second rejection and it stings. I feel like i’m not going to get into any great schools.

I’m SOOO excited. I’m not sure I’ll go if I get in, but it would definitely be in my top 2-3 choices. 8 PM is so late, I can’t wait anymore!!!

Bigapple3- last year someone from my school was rejected from Colgate and accepted to Dartmouth. Stay positive :)

@bigapple, it will all be ok, you will be accepted someplace wonderful I guarantee it. With the admissions game nowadays, almost everywhere is a crapshoot.

Kinda excited, not a top choice but we will see what happens! Good luck all and if it’s your top choice I hope you get in!

bigapple3, I know exactly how you feel. I got wait listed at Kenyon and deferred from Bowdoin ED2. Not sure what to expect.

Thanks for the advice. I already feel more confident and a lot better. I probably shouldn’t have written that post twenty minutes after the rejection! I was definitely rattled!
Laurelelise, I applied RD to Bowdoin. I would LOVE to go there but i’m expect a rejection. Haha…awesome school. I hope you get accepted!

2 more hours! Where is everyone from? I’m from Southern California and the only person I know applying to the school!

Accepted, but not attending. Already accepted to Dartmouth & Williams, and Hamilton didn’t give me very good financial aid.

waitlisted :/

My S has accepted, but not likely going. Their FA is not impressive at all. Two others are better. Waiting the package from another. More colleges to come, hopefully. Very disappointed. Nice acceptance letter though.

Denied… I didn’t think I had a first choice or that it was Hamilton until I checked and read those awful words. I feel exactly like you bigapple3! I wasn’t even waitlisted and I meet their criteria with flying colors

Accepted! But not attending. Too expensive.

Accepted but probably not attending. It’s too expensive and I didn’t like it after I went to an overnight (previously after a summer visit, it was like my dream school~~). If only I could get in places that I want to go to…have to admit though, the personalized acceptance was a nice touch.

I was accepted! I’m so happy! Not sure if I’m going yet–still waiting on nine more schools, but it’s definitely at the top of my list. I’ll have to compare financial aid packages.

I was accepted, and I like how they personalized my acceptance letter by mentioned one one my ECs. However, financial aid was so bad it was almost laughable.

Waitlisted. Really disappointed and my confidence is really shaken after today. I get my Colby decision on Monday and I really REALLY want to get in. I’m afraid I won’t get into a really great school and my parents and teachers will be disappointed. Ugh.

@bigapple3: I was also waitlisted, but don’t be disheartened. I got a likely letter from Dartmouth. Admissions can be so complicated. Stay positive.

Hello,

I was rejected from Hamilton today, My stats are as follows…

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/hamilton-college/1292515-please-chance.html

Even my friend who had a 2390 SAT score and stunning ECs was rejected…

So do International students who need almost 100% financial aid get accepted at all ?

Accepted! with 50k in scholarship money and no loans!!!

I was rejected from carleton and waitlisted at dickinson and wesleyan today. Weird that I got into hamilton, I didn’t even interview there and it wasn’t my top choice. But I LOVE the financial aid package. With a federal loan I’ll be paying like 3k out of pocket. So basically I’ll be paying to fly there, buy books, and personal expenditures, and hamilton will pay EVERYTHING else! I’m so excited!!

@bigapple hey man same thing happened to me. Rejected from Colgate and waitlisted at hamilton. I feel ya, this whole thing is crap.

College admissions nowadays is such a convoluted and seemingly unfair process. Good luck to all of you in the coming week or so, you will all get in someplace nice.

Accepted, will not attend.
