btw, drew sent me a priority application but didnt feel like applying because im applying to about 16 schools. and thats quite a lot.

and congrats on getting into Ursinus College in PA. i was surfing through parents forum and saw one of your posts on one of the threads. what a coincidence. lol

sixteen colleges is crazy, smiley1. why sixteen?! the highest i would let myself apply to would be ten. supplements suck and application fees also. drew u sent me a priority app too! i fell in love with drew u when i visited.

thanks about Ursinus! so far, i am doing pretty alright for myself with the CTCL colleges. Haha. Hope all is well!

as a matter of fact, I'm doing well with CTCL colleges too! hahahaha
I just checked my mail at midnight...(silly me) although the mailman
came by during the day. and I should've checked earlier cuz I got accepted to Hendrix! That's two CTCL colleges in a row. I love this. lol

on a brighter note,
i didn't have to pay any fees for my 4 colleges I applied in Nov. :D
it was either a fee waiver cuz of priority app or online app = free or no fee from the start.
so it all worked out :)

But then I have to pay for the RD ones. haha. I had a lot of matches I liked as well as maybe 4 reaches. so I had to have about 16. lol

lovelykittycat, how are you doing? have you finalized your list? or any good news?
you should probably look into other CTCL colleges. they're really amazing.
i have 7-8 CTCL colleges in my list. 2 for the early ones and rest are RD.
i'm excited!!
keep me updated you guys! :)

smiley1- congrats on hendrix! i agree, all ctcl colleges are amazing. i love them. i should apply to more but im trying not to. lol. i already got into two very good ones. i hope your apps are going well. ill keep you updated. anything new? knox's president, rodger, sent me a letter congratulating me, i thought that was nice and they sent me their catalogue.

i might apply to allegheny, i got a priority app, so no app fee :) i always misplace my ctcl book, but i was looking at some others too. i'm probably not going to apply to too many colleges, since app fees do add up.

open house for knox? nope.
im not gonna go have any visits to anywhere
until i get all my acceptance/rejection letters from my colleges.
im gonna then pick some colleges that i'm accepted to and go have a tour
all of them at once...probably in april. possibly mid-march.

ahh, so i am falling for knox a little bit at a time. my admissions counselor, loren, called me last night. he was pretty cool. he told me congrats and how i should visit, usual conversation. but it was nice to be congratulated by the person who actually read your application.

knox always seems to call & send me things at exactly the right time. the most recent example i can think of is when i was reading about a california state university and i was thinking it had some nice programs and stuff... the mail came & i got the knox college course catalog. i already had it, since i went to the open house but i still i had to stop reading about CSULB because i couldn't resist looking through the catalog again. it just seemed like i started looking at another college and perfect timing - there's knox again. lol

i will write about the open house... sometime, things have been very busy for me, maybe taking 8 classes was too many. haha. but i really liked my visit. the only thing that makes me hesitate... is the location (very rural). i lived in the suburbs of LA for quite a few years with malls and stores and stuff. I'm not used to rural...even though we moved to a small rural city about a year ago. thats honestly the only thing that makes me hesitate, i love their programs & curriculm, the campus is beautiful, everyone is nice & friendly, the dorms and facilities are very nice, etc.

& i'm really stressed at the moment, but otherwise good. :) how are you?

aww, lovelykittycat. i hope all gets better for you and that you do have a nice holiday. i am glad you really liked knox! the location is what holding me back. i am really considering knox in my choices. i went to kenyon college over the summer for a young writers' workshop after the two weeks, i almost went stir crazy and needed to find civilization immediately. however, maybe it was just kenyon, maybe i can deal with a rural lifestyle. i live ten minutes away from NYC via a ferry boat. my parents like to remind me everyday that if you can make it in NYC, you can make it anywhere. they have no idea why i would want to "commit" myself to a school in the midwest or in a rural environment when i have the city right here, with SOO many opportunities but these are my preferences. my mom is starting to like knox, says she really liked my admissions counselor. she also liked i got a really nice scholarship

so far, i am doing well with those colleges that change lives. today, i unexpectedly got into allegheny college in meadville, pa with a scholarship. that was surprising! so far, i am four for four... six more left. my two big ones, which i am not even sure if they are big anymore considering i have all these options now, are happening this week and next.

again, i hope all is well! when you get time, i think everyone on here would love to hear what you thought about knox at the open house!

i got in a few weeks ago. i got the $5000 per year Social Concerns Scholarship...I'm just hoping that I can actually afford Knox once I get the entire fin aid package.

I just got an email saying I've been accepted with an $18,000 scholarship - I am THRILLED!!! :D I would so love to go to Knox... Seems like a fantastic school! :)

psychgirl, congratulations! That's a large scholarship for Knox. Was it just one award or was it a combination of scholarships that added up to $18,000?

Umh, I've done a lot of work with Amnesty International (including founding one at my school) and my school's Gay/Straight Alliance. Also, I had to send a letter of recommendation from the sponsor of my club.
