Exciting News for Pace U

<p>Instead of Batboy, Pace is taking advantage of an amazing opportunity that just came our way. We will be doing Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along! </p>

<p>Lonny Price is directing a commercial documentary following the lives of the actors from the original Broadway production and what has happened to their dreams. A component to his documentary will follow our college production of Merrily and have it mirror the lives of the college actors. The documentary will spend time in rehearsals, connect with the actors who played the role on Broadway to the actor who is playing the same role in the college production and ultimately show the final production.</p>

<p>Just wanted to share this experience with you all. I will post the dates of the production later! </p>

<p>Next week, Ryan Scott Oliver is holding auditions for a reading of Jasper In Deadland. Adam Guettel is workshopping a new piece in December, and Pace New Musicals will be coming up next semester!</p>

<p>Excited to see the production of Merrily We Roll Along mentioned in post #1 later this week at Pace :)</p>

<p>And so sad to see that every performance is SOLD OUT! (Well, not really, what a great problem to have). D is going to NYC for Spring Break and was so excited to see this show and it was sold out so she can’t get tickets… Boo! But congrats to your S and the rest of the cast!</p>

<p>It was wonderful and a thrill that 5 members of the Original Broadway Cast were in the audience. The production and the visit by the OBC was filmed for the Lonny Price documentary, so hopefully everyone will get the chance to see this special show.</p>

<p>My daughter just told me she saw the production of Merrily We Roll Along at Pace (it is one of her favorite musicals to begin with) and thought they put on an outstanding production. </p>

<p>I just happened to walk by Pace a couple days ago while in NYC and went inside.</p>
