<p>I uploaded my Common App essay (am applying tomorrow Early Action). When I print a "preview" copy, there are suddenly exclamation points in front of every paragraph that aren't in the original copy. What does that mean? How do I get rid of them?</p>

<p>You might try copying your text into something like Notepad, then selecting it all and copying it into a brand-new document, then uploading it again, to see if the problem persists. That would remove any formatting characters.</p>
