What is x plus y? I got 190, the answer is 250.How in the world is the answer 250???

Im going to assume that the angle on the left above the y is 50. I forget the theorems but y is 180-60=120 and x is 180-50=130 You then add the two angles 130+120=250

Yeah it is y=50. However, your explanation kinda disregards the location of the angles. I like labeling angles first, and even if your calculation led to 250 degrees, I have no idea how I can check it.

Assuming the horizontal lines are parallel, then the angle immediately left of x is also 50 deg, so x = 180-50 = 130 deg, and y = 180-60 = 120 deg. This shouldn’t be “excruciating.”
