Can anyone comment on the Exercise Science major at Skidmore? My S would like to pursue this major and eventually apply to medical school. Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice?

My daughter is an exercise science major and is also premed. She said teachers are very passionate about their work. They have some expensive, high-tech equipment that some larger universities don’t have, such as the “bodpod.” She loves it, and although she is only a freshman, has already taken two courses in the Exercise Science. My daughter feels that the department has a very holistic approach with variety of course offerings. Hope that helps.

@jhuskidmom. Thank you for the input. My son would like to pursue a similar path: premed and major in exercise science. Will your daughter be ale to finish all the core requirements and premed requirements within the four years?

Yes, but it will be tough. She also hopes to double major in dance, and perhaps even minor in chemistry. She plans to take courses during the summer as well. It can be very hard to fit everything in even when she takes the max or just shy of the max credits allowed.
