I just registered, but have been reading all posts for a while now.. it all helped me cope with the days just before admission results! Thanks a lot! I'm international, and well, now that all my decisions are in, I got into all the schools I applied to, Exeter, Andover, Deerfield and Milton! I have no idea which one to pick :S All of them are great schools, i just wish i could attend all of them. All my dad says is: "Lets revisit, and you'll pick one. Then, you'll make three waitlisting students happy." hahaha the thought do help, but still, I don't know which one to pick, or why to pick that one. I'm afraid to choose the "wrong school", or maybe regret it.

Well, so I'd like to know which one would everyone pick and why?

They have sooo many student publications and tons of productions going on, so if you're kind of a theater/writing geek, that's a great plus.

All of the schools you were accepted to are superb, but it all kind of comes down to where your interest lie. For example, Exeter is usually regarded as a math/science school primarily, while Milton is thought of as more on the artsy side.

Revisiting them all is a great idea if you don't know which one to chose, but while you're visiting, one of them will probably stand out. You'll feel it (hopefully) and you'll know which one you really "click" with.

Exeter is NOT just for Korean math geeks. They have great sports, great humanities, etc. Milton has a good arts program but I found their other departments to be great to.

As Celestialstar said, you need to revisit. I will likely be revisiting HK, E, A, and M.

Yeah, It's what i'm hoping happens, that i just 'click' with one of the schools.
But, it's like: i like art, math, and sports a lot. It's just i like all every school has to offer, and I think each one is pretty well-rounded, no?

I don't really know how the daily life in each happens, also. How people treat each other, or how teachers are. Which school is more united, and also, reasons to why i should pick one over the other.

I would go for Deerfield for various types of reasons !
But good luck :) and no matter what you choose you wont regret it because there all great schools.

well, it was a 'they're-all-my-first-choice' kinda of thing. I was scared of picking a first one, since if i were rejected, i wouldn't give much importance to the other ones i might had gotten into. But it ended up i got into all of them! All my friends want me to go to Exeter, a few others to Andover. But that's cause none of them really know the other schools. I know someone from my country, who went to my school, and is graduating from Exeter this year! I hope I can get him to be my host for revisiting. I will be able to know about his experience and all, might help.

The thing is, I love the idea of going to Exeter or Andover. I was interviewed by Michael Gary, when he came here, and it was the most amazing interview. He made it pretty clear he wanted me to attend. Andover, was the most organized school i applied to. I only had to call them once, and I loved that. Deerfield, my skype interview was also amazing and my interviewer even sent me an awesome postcard! and Milton, well, my interviewer and I emailed each other so much, we ended up becoming friends.

I just wish i could go to all of them. hahaha

Oh jeez. I-wish-I-could-go-to-all-of-them syndrome. Okay, first thing we need to do is get you to a hospital, STAT. This is a very dangerous, yet very common disease that needs to be treated immediately to be cured. If left uncured past April 10th, the patient may have severe heart palpitations, and in some cases, the patient may die.

No, I'm totally kidding.

Do you love the idea of going to A/E because of their rep or because you really love the schools? Because I'm sure you know that reputation and statistics aren't the criteria you should use for picking your future home away from home. But again, I'm sure you realize that and you generally do like the schools because of what makes them special.

I guess you really will have to wait to see which one clicks, but in the meanwhile you could make sure all four schools have all the clubs and classes you want to take, because it would totally suck if you wanted to do something (like, Model UN for example) and went to a school only to find out they didn't have it.

But all the schools are fantastical, haha, so anywhere you go you'll get a supercool education.

HAHAHA i was like: okay .. i am ..dieing. :P

yeah, i know what you mean. I'm in doubt for the fact that they ARE great schools, not just due to reputation at all. But we have to agree to the fact that they don't just have a reputation for no reason. But both deerfield and milton also have a 'rep' for being great schools, and they are in fact. the thing is, i wish i knew already which school fits me best. when i think about it, i realize that all i know about them is mostly the academics side. i know they're all great schools and will totally launch you into ivys. okay, sure. but what about life there? i mean, i will be having a "home away from home" as you said. so, i'm trying to pick the school that's best fit for me as a person, since any school i pick, i know i'll be challenged academically.

i know each school has something that makes them special, for sure. But i just don't see it right away, since i havent been there. As Gemma V said up there, i am absolutely sure that revisiting will help a lot my decision to where i should go. I've also read through their courses list, all of the four schools, and maaan, there are courses i'd like to attend in all schools! hahaha i think academically-wise, i'd be fine in all. I'm wondering about .. life in general, when it comes to picking, mostly.

haha! if i go to Milton, we can totally meet! what grade are you going into?

We could meet! I'm going into 9th. What about you?

I guess you're right in looking for the things that will make the school home. Like, how big do we want our family to be? A and E both have well over 1000 students, while Deerfield and Milton are a bit smaller. Milton has about 700 student, I think, though only about 350 live on campus. Deerfield is around 600-700 too, I believe, although I could be wrong about that.

It's also about the feel you get from the school. You might find that one school gives off a kind of superior, snotty feeling to you, and another gives you a 'welcome home!' feeling and another school gives you a 'we have no school spirit, we don't really want you' vibe.
