How do dorms work for Exeter 9th graders?
Erm... well you go there. Work. Sleep. Joke... erm, and be a prep? Dorms aren't exclusive based on grade, nor are floors depending on what dorm you are placed in. Dorms such as Merrill/Langdell have their girls regardless of grade on all different floors but Wentworth/McConnell have the youngest people on the top floors and so on.

Do you have any choice as a 9th grader?
To some extent, I suppose. I know some people who requested singles, or a certain dorm. Those who didn't are usually pretty happy though, so if you don't have a strong preference I would just let the people who decide place you where they see fit. I'm in a dorm where all of the people are really close and I don't really meld with them. We get along, but they are my best friends. It doesn't bother me. So, morale of that story is that all will be good.

Which are the "best"?
It changes every year. I mean... the worst is probably considered to be Lamont. But I mean, shouldn't you be making your dorm the best/worst, not your dorm making you the best/worst?

Have the most singles? Doubles? Biggest rooms?
I really don't know every dorm that much... McConnell is ALL singles (except I think a senior suite) but have TINY rooms. I don't know... I could go on but it would be really boring. Every dorm has it's ups and downs, don't let room size make you biased. If you have a small room it makes for a fun roomie experience (if you have a room mate.)

Can you request a single?
...Yeah, if you want. I mean, consider the ups and downs to a single before you request anything.

Who is the nicest resident family and which dorm do they live in?
I don't know... why do you want to know? I don't think resident families are what make/breaks a dorm.

Do they place all the jocks in one dorm? math whizzes in another dorm? ect...
Nope, everyones intermixed.

btw. when I visited exeter i saw the girls dorms and doubles areactually two rooms... is this with all the dorms?
Nope, infact, this is pretty uncommon. Usually if you have a room mate, there is one room.
