Exeter Dorms

I thought we were getting our dorms and advisers tomorrow but I got a letter in the mail today!

I'm in Lamont Hall. Is anyone else assigned there?? Any info current/past Exonians have on it like size, personalities of the people there, etc. would be awesome :-)

Where do you live? By that I mean which state, because I live in Illinois, and I didn't get anything. (which you would think I would, cause I don't live thaaattt far.)

By the way, sweet about getting your letter. You are REALLY lucky! =)

I'm in Massachusetts. I don't know if I got the letter early or not - I think in the email Mr. Morrissey said you'll find out tomorrow, but I heard some other people got their letters today, too.

Thanks, haha :-) Tell me what dorm you're in when you find out!

I know this is just wishful thinking, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Merrill. What I wouldn't give to be in the only dorm on campus connected to a food hall. =D

And yeah, I keep updated AOL, and the Email address Exeter gave us in hope they have sent it via internet.

I was kind of hoping for Dunbar since it's right in the middle of campus, but Lamont is cool too; it might be better since it's next door to the health center, the science center, and the Academy center. I hope you get Merrill!!

I got mine in snail mail with a schedule of the first few days. Maybe they'll put it online too so you don't have to wait more, like what they did with the decision stuff.

Yeah, I know what you mean about Dunbar. My tourguide lady was in that dorm. It seemed cool because it was the biggest on campus, and that they host a dance at the beginning of the year, but also it might be to big. Although I really am not one who should rule out any dorm yet because I don't know where I am going to end up. =)

Shame our mail people take forever to get to our house. (okay, so they come around 11 am...but still!) I will just have to wait patiently. sigh

Mine was in either Dunbar or Bancroft... I can't remember, LOL. I've never been in a school so big (my middle school had 250 students total) and that's one of the reasons why I applied to Exeter, so I figured Dunbar would be cool - but I hear all the dorms are a decent size, the only places with a really small number of people are the houses.

Lucky! Our mailman comes sometime around 4. You wouldn't believe how many hours I've spent sitting in front of our house with my little sisters waiting for him - they're 7-year-old twins and they're still fascinated with his job.

Wow, that's quite a small school. Yeah, they should all be pretty close in size. Which makes me think I would want a dorm that doesn't have as many floors as possible, because preps are notoriously placed on the top floor. Actually...that would be a good work out, nevermind! lol

Yikes. That's all I have to say to that.

And wow, everyone must be asleep or something, cause we are having quite the two-sided conversation.

Haha, yeah, it was a fun four years though... did I tell you each school day was 10 hours long?? LOL you're right, honestly I don't care much about which room I'm in as long as I get the bed closer to the window :-)

I love them and - believe it or not - I might actually miss them when I'm at Exeter. Do you have any siblings?

It's 12:30 AM over here actually so I'm gonna head to bed soon. Usually I go to bed a lot later but I'm trying to get back into normal times so I'm not awake until 3 or 4 at school, lol

I'll just post message you at this point.

Do you guys have access to Who's Who on Lionlinks? It's up on there... If you guys don't and you are really desperate to know which dorm, I can tell you if you PM me

KayleeG-- Lamont has fairly small singles... The people are really nice, .....and being right next to the health center! I'm envious.

Oh my goodness, Tuesdayair, you are amazing. I have just been updating the email. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Dang. I was practically shaking while I was logging on and stuff, and sure enough, we don't have access to it. Grrrrr. I guess I'll just wait for the mail tomorrow, it will make it more exciting when I do find out.

tuesdayair -- Thanks for telling me! I'm in a double, I was hoping for a roommate too, lol. Do you know who Frances Johnson is? She's my adviser but I can't find what class she teaches or anything on the website.

I don't have Who's Who either, is it the same thing that was in the letter?

For some reason I remember one time when I logged onto LionsLink that it had the Who's Who thing, and then the next time (and everytime after) it was gone. Now I really wish I figured out why.

2 more hours till I get my letter!

I'm in Williams House...not sure what that means

Anyone know how Webster Hall South is?

someone said lamont had small singles. where has the best/biggest single rooms?

btw- i logged onto lionlinks, but i couldn't figure out how to access the who's who

artsmart -- Lionlinks works for me, PM me if you want me to find anything for you... idk why it's not working for you, lol

yeah, the lionlinks is working for me tonight =]

im in merrill.
