Exeter E-mail

Yes, yes... The e-mail will arrive a little while after 6:00 am.

Can anybody recall what the email states for accepted and rejected students in the subject box?

Can't wait! Best of luck to everybody!

Is the time confirmed by Exeter?

The subject just says “decision”. You won’t know until you open it.

And check your junk mail if you don’t see it in your inbox–my son’s was in my junk mail, though it sounds like last year they sent emails to both parent and kid.

i remember my came around 6:30, so don’t worry if it is coming in a little late. The subject is something neutral like Phillips Academy Exeter Decision (but I don’t remember exactly). Good luck!

Just a piece of advice: If you are not usually up early, then don’t set that alarm before 6:30. D’s decision did not come until 6:20. We made the mistake of getting up at 6:00, then the four of us stared at the computer for 20 minutes. It was an excrutiating experience, and something I would not repeat.

We also made the mistake of all (mom, dad, brother) hovering around the computer when D opened the e-mail. Luckily it was good news; but, I didn’t realize until later that if the news was not positive, D would not have appreciated all of us there to experience the disappointment.

Give some thought as to how you want to handle the viewing of your decisions.

@Ranabona: good advice! it hadn’t even crossed my mind if i wanted my family looking over my shoulder…i think i’d like to open it by myself.

Also, I think Exeter is only sending emails to the parents this year.

D’s came to our e-mail address last year.

Ours showed up 2-3 days late. Something about multiple email addresses in their system.

In other words, don’t panic.

My son’s Exeter email came a few minutes before 3 AM Pacific. The subject line: Exeter Admission Decision. The email came to my phone, but I seem to recall it got caught in the spam filter for my computer.
