I go to Exeter, so obviously I’m going to say GO TO EXETER!!!

A lot of people who choose Andover over Exeter say that it’s because Exeter is too uptight, but WHAT? I don’t see how they can say that, especially because they’ve never attended Exeter as a student themself.
Exeter’s a tough place to be because of all the stress that’s put on you a lot of the time, but it’s still an amazing place. We have Saturday classes and a dress code unlike Andover, but it’s not much of a problem.
The dress code thing is easy–especially for the guys, who always have to wear a collared shirt and a tie, it just makes getting up in the morning and getting dressed take less time, AND personally, being a girl, I love seeing the guys in shirts and ties most of the time. They look great. :]
As for the girls, we practically don’t have a dress code anyway. We just have to be presentable, not in sweats, athletic gear, or “revealing clothing” as in tank tops and extreeemely low cut shirts, but apart from that, we can get away with wearing pretty much whatever we want, depending on the teachers we have. I don’t dress any differently because of the dress code. People look a little bit preppier and fancier, but it’s cute. :]
Saturday classes? Alright, I’ll admit that they’re not my favorite thing in the world. Not many kids have to get up at 7 on Saturday mornings to go to class as usual, but it’s honestly not THAT bad. …Okay, okay, sometimes, they are. But most of the time, it’s not, and it’s only a half day anyway, meaning that classes end by lunch (as they do on Wednesdays).

Exeter’s SO MUCH FUN. I don’t know how dorms work at Andover, but one thing I love about Exeter’s dorms is that the students aren’t divided up according to the grade that they’re in. You’ll be put into a dorm with Lowers, Uppers, and Seniors when you come in as a prep, and it’s great to be able to know and learn from the upperclassmen in your dorm. There are always a few upperclassmen in your dorm who’ll be your “older sister” or “older brother” of sorts, who I can talk to about pretty much anything. If I feel awkward talking to kids in my grade about boy problems or something because I’m scared of how quickly it might spread, I can talk to an Upper in my dorm about it instead, and I love that kind of security. It lets you get to know people other than the people in your grade at school. We have proctors who are kind of the representatives of the dorm who are in charge of little discipline things, and student listeners who you can talk to if worst comes to worst. Tech proctors are older students good with computers, so most of the time, they can help you figure out whatever problems you have with the campus network or other little glitches on your computers.

Exeter’s stressful because of the workload, but it sure helps you become a lot more responsible about stuff in general. The time management that you’ll learn if you come to Exeter will probably last you a lifetime but if it ultimately comes down to the amount of FA you get, you’ll probably going to have to choose Andover. (Such blasphemy! But I guess you might not have too much of a choice…)

Exeter’s a great school! I can’t say why Exeter OVER Andover cause I’ve never attended Andover myself, but if you (or anyone else for that matter) have questions about Exeter, feel free to PM me! :D
