Exeter or Andover???

Have you guys seen Groton's study hall. It looks like something out of Harry Potter. Statues line the walls and the desks appear to be from about 1920. It's real neat. It gives you this traditional boarding school feel. Groton remains to this day, a more traditional boarding school. 8th and 9th graders sleep in cubicles, kinda like the Gryffindor dormitories.

The internet still has more books than the library... the importance of a library is really minimized once you have the internet.

Think about it; Would you rather type in a search word and get a book's entire contents on your laptop or spend the time looking for a book by title/genre/subject BY HAND?

haha! laziness is what technology has gotten you :)

i don't think so, though...

I totally prefer paper to online books... online books make my eyes ache

Some people read books other than for reference. Some people really like books in general. You say by hand like the Dewey Decimal system is somehow more tedious than going through webpage after webpage to find information when sometimes you can just find a single book that has the equivalent of six webpages. Did I mention that books are significantly more credible?

But the fact remains that there are other reasons to pick up a book than when you're searching for information, that being leisure.

ive read books on the internet. it definitely takes more time to read since i cant turn the page for a minute while im on the bus.

He meant you can get the info in the book online (if for research purposes). Not read the books online.

still, books are much more credible sources that you can take anywhere. And one book has several times the information that you could find in a webpage. I prefer books.

And I love to read, and a REAL novel trumps anything you can find online.

"....trumps anything you can find online. "

hey neatoburrito, that website's really neat, thanks!

Andover vs. Exeter on homework? Who gives more, and is the homework helpful or just a waste of time?

On reading stuff for pleasure on line not researching:
I love libraries but I read large amounts of stuff on the internet. Some of it’s crap but I’ve read plenty thats better than some B grade Fantasy on the market. There’s plenty of it and it’s free! Which is a big deal when your library sucks and you can get through 2 or 3 bought b ooks a day.

What do people at Andover wear? Is it like every other American high school with Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister reigning supreme?

At PA, people wear an array of clothing ranging from the average American high school attire (abercrombie & fitch, hollister, american eagle, nike, under armor, addidas), to the very typical prep clothing (vineyard vines, j crew, brooks brothers, lacoste). No matter what you wear, you won’t be judged.

I’m in at both now and am leaning towards andover. They are both amazing, but I like andovers laid back attitude and location, I am going to revisits though

Does Andover have student council? Class president?

I’m guessing yes?

Each class has representatives. School President, VP, and secretary are positions only seniors can run for.

K just like basically any high school.
