Does anyone know what this entails? We haven't received any info, so hard to plan...

There is info in the parents section of the website. Basically, most parents drive up the night before (on Thurs night). Friday morning you meet your child in Grainger at 7:30 and go to their classes that day, starting at 8. Parents may not attend assembly, and during that time you can visit the bookstore or mill around campus as you wish. Friday evening there are special presentations and events. There are no classes on Saturday -I don’t remember if there were much of any plans or not. Mine is a lower this year, so he has to take PSATs on Saturday. Most kids go off campus with parents for the weekend, since there are no Monday classes and check in is not until 6.

Oh, duh. There are sports on saturday. He had a cross country match last year on Saturday. We then had dinner with a bunch of his friends and their parents.

ncgooner - you will also want to make some hotel arrangements if you are coming from a fair distance. My son always appreciated getting out of Exeter after his sport on Saturday. Oh, and eating REAL food.
Be sure to attend the classes on Friday - that is my favorite part of parent’s weekend! If you have not done so before, you will be amazed at their Harkness discussions.
There are also lots of fun things to do in the area. In the past we have gone to corn mazes, apple picking and to the beach.
Enjoy!

my son is a boarder but we live about an hour away- in our situation would you recommend just coming for Friday and then taking him home with us Fri night or is there something important he should be there for on Sat?

He’s not doing a fall sport- hopefully hockey in the winter…

Usually not much goes on Saturday but sports. Many kids leave campus with their parents. The first year I felt so bad that my son’s room mate did not have anyone there. From then on we have always made arrangements to take one of his friends, who did not have parents coming, out with us on that weekend.
