Oh boy, where do I start? Well hello there everyone, I am a rising sophomore at an okay public school which I feel is not exactly providing me with a fulfilling education. It just seems so rushed here and the science department is lacking. I want to be an aerospace engineer , a biochemist, an astrophysicist, or a cardiologist so obviously the sciences are vital for me to reach my goals. I feel like Exeter would prepare me for the rigors of pre-med and medical school, it is a great foundation. However, my chances are low. These are the statistics of my freshman year (very horrifying):
Repertory Company: B+
Honors English: C+
Spanish 2: B
Honors World Cultures: B
Algebra 1: A+
Honors Biology: A+

My ECs were: Mock Trial, Math Team, and Anime Club

Now I know it was a ridiculous year and I had my reasons for why it turned out so...ugly. I'm just so ugly on paper. Anyways I have taken the initiative to ensure that my sophomore year is not as horrible. I have studied for all of my subjects for the following school year and I think my course load is very rigorous.
Economics and the Entrepreneur/Honors Bioethics on VHS (semester courses)
Honors Chemistry
Plane Geometry
Honors Algebra 2
Honors English
APUSH part 1
Spanish 3
I am taking more classes than needed because nothing seems to be stopping me this year. Although my grades do not reflect it, I LOVE learning and I love discussing what I learn, writing about it(surprise, surprise), I just love it all. This may be easy compared to what the sophomores are taking at Exeter, so that is why I am thinking of applying as a repeat sophomore. This may greatly increase my chances and I will get a wonderful experience. However, I will be older. My birthday is in November of 1997 and I will be 19 years old by the time I graduate. I feel old. I will be a 17 year old sophomore..oh the horror. Should I care? Will I look stupid to universities? I am studying for the PSATs this fall and writing practice essays for English. Now if anyone has any additional tips, please don't hold anything back. I LOVE Exeter and I will try to do anything in my power to get there. If anyone has repeated a year at Exeter, please tell me how it is. And I think that even applying as a repeat sophomore would not make any difference in my chances since I live way below the 75k mark. Anyway, thanks for your time.
