Hi, I'm going to enter Phillips Exeter Academy this fall as an 11th grader. I was wondering if somebody could tell me about the soccer team there. I looked online on there website and I would like to know more information than just their record. I was wondering how many kids will be returning to varsity and how many kids usually try out and other information like that.

A couple of the kids play for an excellent local club team. The club itself did not look all that strong to me...not as good as club, but they did ok. I don't know about their college recruiting situation. A friend of my son's who is a freshman made the Varsity team, and I think that is rare. My son was at a different bs, but they both play for the same club team. They do have three or four teams, same as my son's school....and my son's team does make cuts for all the teams....so there is some competition, especially for Varsity where there are PG's.

8 people are leaving the varsity team

what gender r we talking about, here? male?

It's around eight for both genders I think. Think the girls might have a couple more open spots.

If you're a guy, you're going to want to be able to run two miles in under 12 minutes, the coach is looking for people who can last.

I played on JV last year, and I only know this because the coach sent me/all other JV/Varsity players an email. Haha.

I'm talking about males. That's a pretty high standard for fitness that your coach set. Could you tell me what main positions the team lost? Like for instance, will they need a defensive mid?

I wouldn't pigeonhole yourself into one position, just work on general things. Be able to make a shot from anywhere within the sixteen with both feet in a variety of ways, improve fitness massively, quick feet, etc.

Good luck!
