<p>HI GUYS!!
Congrats to everyone who heard good news today.
I got in to EXETER and i was clicking "my decisions" for 100 million times,
and I remember staring at the word "congratulations" for 2 seconds until I
screamed and cried. </p>
<p>Anyway, I saw that many of you got into Exeter!
Congrats!!!!!
i wanted to make friends and get to know some of the people
who will be attending Exeter, starting in September.
If you got into exeter, please email me, so we can get to know each other
well before school starts :)</p>
<p>Oh my goodness!! I did the same thing, Wisemann!!
I practically fell down the stairs trying to reach my parents, and could hardly speak to tell them what was the matter-I was crying so hard! My mom was on the phone at the time with my grandpa, and to them it sounded as if someone had died! I seriously didn't know what to do with myself-cry or jump, cry or scream-I've been pacing for the last few hours...it's just like a tremendous weight has been lifted off of our shoulders-whew.
Anyway, haha...now that I've completely embarrassed myself...what year are you going in as-a prep? I'm going in as a junior (or upper, I think).</p>
<p>oh and by the way, dont worry, I cried so much that I was late to school +_+
(remember I'm in California and it was 7:00 when I checked the results)</p>
<p>Oh, I see...we got ourselves a Californian!! haha
And, yeah-it's always nice to have cute lil' freshmen cromies! the preppies...haha, I get a kick outta that. Would have been fun to have been one, but oh well, at least there's two more years!!</p>
<p>i got in!!!!!!!!!! i'm not sure if i'm going yet tho, waiting for andover!!!! i was so excited i could barely think!!! it was up at 6 here, but i got up at 5 to check hill school, so i got a grand total of 4 and a half hours of sleep. doesn't feel good! but i'm so happy for all of us!! i still can't believe i got in!!!</p>
<p>congradulations to all!
i already go to exeter, but i went through a very similar string of reactions at this time last year.
i can't wait to meet you all!
and, sball12, it's preplings, not preppies, but you were close haha i would know because i AM a prepling right now. we even refer to ourselves as such. so, wiseman, welcome to the prepling boat!</p>
<p>haha prepling..
thats like how in California (i dont know about Massachusetts/ New Hampshire)
8th graders in middle school call seventh graders "sevis"</p>
<p>I got into Exeter and Choate, but I don't know which to choose yet.</p>
<p>I was on the phone with a friend when I checked my Exeter results, and I just started CRYING. It was pretty embarassing, but I was just so RELIEVED. I'd gotten waitlisted at Andover so I'd been thinking that I would just not make it into anywhere and end up staying at my current school. :(</p>
<p>ahahha i was home sick yesterday and my mom called me from work when she had seen it on lionlynx. i jumped around in a cirlcle screaming O MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD...ahaha its the only place i applied and i really really really REALLY wanted to get in. cant wait to see y'all next year!!</p>
<p>i got in to...and am probably going there next year....in 10th grade. looks like we are gonna have some fun starting september! hey, do any of you guys know when we will get the actual packet in the mail?</p>
<p>scigirl-
If you want a school for its campus (huge grounds, beautiful architecture, more trees and huge field) and smaller population size (about 600 or so compared to Exeter's 1000), then I'd say go w/DA. When I visited DA, I thought that the campus was drop-dead (I love architecture), and it looked to me like your classic New England Prep-School (the main admissions building looks as if George Washington could have lived there! great columns!!). Though I'm not trying to say anything against it, but my interviewer for DA told me that a lot of the students are cliquey in the sense that they all come from generally the same area--like, my interviewer was a parent in Illinois who said that when she and her husband went to visit their daughter there, it was hard for them to connect w/any of the parents because a lot of them already had a history and were familiar w/each other...so, that's just what I've heard. But DA is very gorgeous, and seems pretty great (not to mention, very preppy-lol).
On the other hand...if you're looking for a place w/probably more diversity, a larger student body, a more "urban" (if you so choose to call it--closer to town, meaning), and peers who are supposedly more driven, then I would choose Exeter.
All-in-all, both of their campuses are great, and both are really amazing, top-notch schools. So, good luck with your decision..and I'm sure you'll be happy whatever which-way it spins!! : )</p>
