I know last year the overall admit rate was 17.7%.
Anyone know about what it’ll be this year? RD vs overall?

Whoo Penn 2011!

Whoo Penn 2011!

it has to be lower this year since they got 23000 apps (their highest ever)
I would guess around 15% for overall and closer to 10% for RD
wow Penn got 2000-3000 more apps than last year

absurdity%

I heard from a student from Penn that it was around 14% this year.
But I am 100% sure, though.^^

Damn, 14%. That's crazy.
I feel kinda proud, lol.

don't feel that proud.

old hands like me are free riding from all this academic throat-slitting that you young guns are doing for the university

My email says 23000 apps and 2400 accepted, that puts it at a little over 10%.

Huh? (10 char)

more than 2400 were accepted because there is space for about 2400 in the whole class? i thought

2 years ago it was 21%, last year it was 18%... So maybe around 15%?

mengcheng, what do you mean by your post above?

probably that as a current Penn student or alumni people will see the lower acceptance % now... think Penn is that much harder/greater which reflects nicely on him

finally, someone realizes that I am infact a guy, and not a girl

I am figuratively slitting my wrists at the lack of humor this forum has.

The REAL free riders are the alumni who went to penn when the acceptance rate was around 45%

That says the Penn acceptance rate was down to 15% this year.

The Financial Times article cited in The Dartmouth article actually says it's 14%:

Either way, I'm really enjoying the free ride (thanks, kids!).

Awesome.... yet, at the same time not awesome
