Expedite Admission Decision?

I just got an update that I was waitlisted today. Honestly surprised bc I got into umiami but I need to make a decision by may 1st. Could I ask to expedite a decision if I was placed on the waitlist?

I just got an update on my portal saying that my decision is being “deferred” because of my immigration status (the deferred gave me a heart attack but then I realized what they meant lol). They asked me to email them with confirmation, so I just did that like 5 mins ago. Hoping my decision comes soon!

That’s great- it sounds like they just needed that paperwork. If you don’t get an update by Monday, don’t hesitate to call. That’s what they are there for!

Hmm so this is weird. I got an email an hour ago saying that there was as an update to my admissions decision, but when I checked just now, it’s still on the same “will be deferred til you confirm your immigration status” page, which is very considering I emailed them my permanent card yesterday…
I’m just not sure why I would get an email saying there was an update to my portal even though it’s still the same thing. Cmon UCF, you’re just killin’ me at this point!!

***very weird

Were you notified by email before you saw your status change? A lot of times the email comes a day or two after they make the update. Hang in there! Call on Monday and make sure they got your documentation- just say you are following up and want to know if they need anything else… maybe that will trigger the portal!

Jeneric’s advice is very sound. It can take them 3-4 business days to process information and update the portal – especially this time of the year. It could take a week or more this time of year.

Many of the administrative staff are still working from home, and that slows things down a little.

Yes, you can email or call for one, what are your stats?

Do you happen to know if that April 15th deadline is relevant now?

Just an FYI… today is 5/24/22 and we still have not received an admission decision to UCF. My son has inquired twice in the last two months and they just keep telling him he will receive an answer by May 31. He has already commited to his backup school but this is just frustrating how long they wait to answer.
