However, don't try to justify yourself when writing your explanation to the colleges. They would rather see that you have learned "something" from this experience and you deeply regret for whatever had happened.....

Is teh 3.8 weighted? If yes, that alone will probably mean a no at SD. If you're in the top 10% of your class and wrote a good essay, UCI could be a possibility.

I don't think you can get into the UCs period, having been expelled... I mean, how can you even have any transcripts mailed if you're no longer a student at any institution?

Hmm, i hope you still have a chance. I honestly don't know how seriously colleges take something like this. I have a good friend who's a genius, but he was expelled from his old school. I wonder how much expulsion affects an applicant. . .hmm

You don't have to even report your expulsion to the UC's. They don't require any teacher recs, counselor's reports, or anything. Everything is self reported and there is NOWHERE on the application that asks what type of disciplinary actions you have received. It's a don't ask, don't tell policy. I sincerely hope you chose not to tell.

Hmm thanks for the positive feedback guys i really appreciate it. I do attend school, however it is a school out of the district. I have a 4.0 unwieghted there and although they dont offer many aps aside from calculus ap which im taking.

Hmm...dunno if they will run a background check on you though. You didn't say if this indiscretion involved legal trouble though. Is this a public school you were expelled from. If it is, that is bull**** and you should call the ACLU. What you do in your private life is none of a public school's business.

yes it is a public school what happened was i was waiting on a corner for my ride near the school (completely off campus) and i see 4 guys running thier asses off because they vandalized some tree and 2 security gaurds approach me and the rest is history. I guess life sux and i just need to deal with it lol thanks everyone

I am a security guard and can vouch for this. If I was at a post where you did a search, it was only a mandatory search of everyone leaving the building's bags. You are not allowed to touch anything of the person's belongings and are not allowed to search their person. If something does come up illegal, or person refuses mandatory search then the police are called.
