Hey guys so my background is basically this:

I got expelled from my school at the end of my junior year due to some issues (dont want to talk about it) now im getting my GED and going to community college so that I can eventually transfer into a good 4 year University as a college junior. I wanted to know the advantages in this. I made a mistake, I know i did and now Im moving on I dont want a lecture on morals I just want advice please. I am really driven and once I commit to an idea I see it thorugh. I need advice on how to go about this, things to be advised against, etc. I dont want to go to another school for my senior year because I know my perosnality and I know that because it will be hard to adjust I wont do well in school.

Well, Nicole, it seems you are moving forward…congratulations. Not everyone fits in the same mold. My Dau’s friend exited high school a year early and opted for a GED and attendance at CC. Nothing wrong with that! Only advice I’d have is to keep your long range goals in mind, & don’t sweat the small stuff. If you hit a bump in the road, keep on chugging. Do you have a major in mind? If so, you might want to explore your major prerequisite courses that are offered at your CC. Sometimes those courses can also serve to satisfy general ed requirements so you make the most of your time and money. The more major pre req classes you have on your CC transcript, the stronger your candidacy at a 4-yr U. Map out a plan, maybe run it by your CC advisor. In the meantime, explore which 4-year universities offer the strongest programs for your intended major. If you can, go visit them. GO FOR IT!!!

Some CC’s also have matriculation agreements with 4 year schools. Ask your CC advisor about that too!

Good luck!
