Experience transferring as a junior/senior and graduating in 4 years?

I am possibly going to transfer to another university after 2.5 years at another. I was just wondering if anybody else had ever done that and still graduated in 4 years. How much extra work did you have to do? Did you feel like it would have been better if you didn't transfer? Did you make new friends, etc.? Any insight is greatly appreciated. I just want to get other opinions before I make a potentially life-changing decision. Thanks!

Most universities will require you to complete two full years of study, or roughly 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credit in order to earn their diploma. Depending on how many transfer credits the university accepts, and on your specific major, the number of credits you will have to complete at your university may be even greater. This is something that you will have to examine very closely.

If you are able to carry a higher than average courseload at your new school, and if you can complete some of your coursework there during summer session, you can shorten the calendar time that you are in school.

If you are very close to graduating from your home university, sometimes it is possible to arrange "visiting student" or "guest senior" status at another university for the last year of your program. If this can be arranged, you should be able to finish in 4 years, and your diploma would be from your home university.
