Experience Transferring to Barnard?

Hello. I was hoping some transfer students (those who have already transferred) might have some useful information/tips for a sophomore who wishes to transfer to Barnard.

I've wanted to go to Barnard for a while; I was waitlisted as a freshman but I've worked hard on my college GPA and I've tried to find ec's I truly enjoy. The problem is there are quite a few gaps in my application that I can forsee but I think I'm still willing to risk the time and effort (and pride!). The school I'm at now, while it's given me quite a few opportunities, really isn't suited to me personality-wise; I feel that I would be challenged a great deal more at Barnard, would find more people like me to be close friends with, and I've heard many good things about the English department (I'm majoring in English).

Any type of information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

P.S. I'd also be interested in those who transferred from Barnard to get an overall view.

maybe you could PM justwondering - she got into Barnard as a spring transfer and could probably help you!

Thanks collegegirl. I've spoken to her a couple times actually, and she was very helpful! I was hoping to speak to someone who has transferred to Barnard and has gone through that experience.
