Experience with EF College Break?

I just recently discovered EF College Break through Facebook which is a business that provides vacation packages for college students ages 18-28. I believe the company is legit because I have seen several instagram posts and reviews, but just wondering what people’s personal experiences have been. I am considering taking a vacation within the next couple years, but buying earlier is cheaper.
Thanks for the help.

EF is legit–it’s a Swedish company with a history of working with student tours/international exchange/au pairs for 50+ years. I used to work there haha. (for EF Foundation for Foreign Study, the exchange student arm)

My colleague (at my current, non-EF job) took a College Break tour in April and really loved it–enough that she already booked another tour for 2017. You see the sights but I’d say they lean on the “young and fun” side–my colleague said they did their fair share of partying. If that appeals, I would do it!

EF is an American company run out of Cambridge, MA. It’s owned by EF Tours, which runs educational tours for high school students. I can only address the high school part, but bear in mind that the management is the same.

Both of my kids did an EF tour. We thought it was extremely expensive for what they got, and yes, there was a big emphasis on partying and not enough emphasis on safety.

You can get the same experience by arranging your own trip for much less money.

EF is pricey. I had looked into their programs many years ago but could not in heavens name understand why they were so expensive…

Imagine you were going to study in Madrid. Have a look at the page below and compare costs not just with EF but with other study abroad companies (CIEE, IES, AIFS, etc.)

EF charges $14,390 for its “EF Intensive Program” in Madrid.(6 months).

Tuition at the University Carloss III de Madrid (for the Entire Academic Year) is $3,800, and housing is around $400 a month.

A semester (Jan to May) at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid costs $2,600, and housing costs around $600 per month, depending on what housing option you choose.

Heck of a better deal, in my humble opinion.

Oops … forgot the other link.
