Experience with FA Appeal at CMU

haha thanks for your... kind reply?
mhm i went to one of those sites.. but would they recognize the appeal if i compared it with brown.. is more of my question.. but thanks for your help

Like I said, "be a little more active."

I have no idea. but, Why are you agonizing on this question of whether they are or are not? There are only three answers to your question, two are in your favor.

Willis-- the only way to know is to file the appeal. Suggest you do it soon so you have time to ponder the results.
On my appeal I received an increase of $5,000 in grant money. They still gapped me, and grant money offered is about $8,000 lower than the two "comparable" school offers I submitted to them.

Only you can decide how much money it would take to point you toward one school over the other. They do know that, however, and I think they count on some students choosing CMU and paying more, and others choosing the"competing" school that offers more money. That is why their yield is lower than other equivalent schools.

16-apr-2008 Re-evaluation letter

this showed up.... but they didnt update my financial aid reward on the status page or email me.... this mean i got denied???

I'm not sure. I have 15-apr-2008 Re-evaluation Letter and they replaced my 3000 work study with 10000 in a scholarship. If this is true, it'll make my decision between CMU and NU a lot tougher.

lozz, if you dont mind me asking- which school did you submit for your appeal?

Northwestern. They covered the difference between NU's financial aid and CMU's.

do i seriously have to wait for my financial aid letter to arrive before i can appeal?
