Experience with summer storage

Has anyone used Ambruster Moving and Storage? They pick up boxes and store them for the summer and drop them back off at the new dorm in the fall. CWRU provides their information as the suggested company to do this. It seems like a good option, especially for kids without cars.

Are they reliable? Anyone have experiences with them? I'd hate for my student to return to school in the fall and not have his things delivered when expected.

No experience but we’re doing it and hoping for the best! My D is packing and labeling as we speak for pick-up tomorrow morning…let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything shows up in the fall at the right place! Without a car, I really didn’t see another option…

I was worried about the same thing – moving companies in general aren’t known for great customer service. We found out that they don’t deliver on weekends (except by paying a fee of $100), so we are making arrangements for our son to return to school on a weekday.

@DRDM37 my D has to be back a little earlier for sorority “stuff” so the weekday was o.k… I just hope it shows up at all and that they are a little flexible with drop-off schedules…I don’t want her to be waiting all day…and be charged because she wasn’t there at the exact minute they arrive. We’ll see!
Also- I hope your S enjoyed his first year at Case as much as my D did!

He did enjoy his first year! We have been so happy with his choice, and are thankful for College Confidential for bringing the school to our attention. It wasn’t on our radar originally. Case has done a great job keeping the first-year students and parents informed about everything going on, and DS has taken advantage of a wide range of opportunities. We are very happy for him…
