Experience with The Berkshire School?

<p>We are looking at smaller schools with good academics, arts (music) and sports/outdoors programs and where most students board. And where a fairly high % get FA.</p>

<p>The Berkshire School is on our list -- any comments?</p>

personally i didn’t like their renovation of berkshire hall[in which all/most classes are held]. too polished and 'don’t touch. it didn’t seem to fit the surroundings imo
outdoors=v.v. nice; nestled in the berkshires right next to a mountain and great barrington [<3]</p>

<p>Wow… Lots of Berkshire questions being asked here on CC lately. :)</p>

<p>There is another thread on this that was started just a little while back. It has lots of info about Berkshire’s reputation among prep schools, and it’s athletic and academic programs. I don’t remember there being much about the arts, however…</p>

<p>They offered us great financial aid, and were one of our top two finalists. We really loved the school and would encourage anyone to consider it. Great teachers and staff – and the school is well respected in the local community. We choose another school – hardest decision that we have made so far – because of a particular program at the other school, but still wonder sometimes if we should’ve chosen Berkshire. </p>
