Experiences and Thoughts Through the Transfer Process

Continued: I received a waitlist notification from one of the Ivys I had applied to. I was quite surprised, as I figured that the universities I had applied to had easily seen through the fabrications on my application. A couple days after that I received an acceptance from another university! Two weeks later, the Ivy offered me a spot off the waitlist. I ultimately decided to go the the first school because it had a far superior engineering program. I am really looking forward to my fall semester and new start at the University I am transferring to!

Some resources I used: There are extremely few resources targeted specifically to helping transfer students through the admissions process. Since there are pretty much no example transfer essays posted online I eventually wound up paying for a book that contained a couple. If you are interested in the book you can PM me, I do not want to post it for fear that I’ll look like a shill or something lol. You can also PM me for the essay editing service I used.

Finally some thoughts on the process: I clearly did not deserve to successfully transfer to a prestigious university, as evidenced by my application transgressions, and I freely acknowledge that fact. I am trying to make some sense of it, especially the essays/ECs portion. I can only imagine why it is so easy to fabricate your way through this portion of the application. I figure that the universities are just trying to get insight into your writing abilities, and not so much the actual content of these sections. If they genuinely care about the content, then they have unfortunately failed to get that in the application. I imagine this post will not please many College Confidential member so to conclude let me say that I am sure to have some bad karma coming my way soon!
