<p>So I recently applied and received an email about holiday parties entitled "Harvard- Invitation to Winter Break 2008 Parties." I thought it was a joke since I have never heard of this in this thread etc. Maybe people just haven't posted about this? I was wondering what your experiences were like, or if this is even a legitimate get-together. I'm still debating to see if it's worth going (quite a drive in this snowy winter). </p>

<p>It's probably given by the local Harvard Club and is a chance to talk to some Harvard alums or parents. I doubt it would have any effect on your admissions chances.</p>
<p>Thanks mathmom! I wasn't worried about admissions chances, but just wanted to know experiences others had. So, it's sort of like an interview, except, of course, without too much judging etc? Hmmm... sounds like an excellent way to know more about Harvard from the inside.</p>
