Experimental Sections - VERIFIED

No. That was a really, really strange one, with the height of a stack of pails determined by the equation 2n + 8, where n equals the number of pails in the stack. The 2 was bolded for some very strange reason, and the answer choices were letters (a, b, c, d, e) with a long, queer explanation after. id est,

quote="Answer choice" e, the volume of the area between the bottom of the pail and the second pail

Something along those lines. I do recall the water being removed incremently...8 minutes. Answer was 2 and 1/3...that wasn't a grid-in, was it?

Do you guys think the question, with the big circle inscribed with two smaller circles, was in the experimental section? Since, as i was checking my answers for that section, I realized I had misread the answers and thought we had to find the area of the shaded area, not the circumference, but it was too late by that time to change my answer.

I don't believe that was, but it may have been. The ying/yang shape circle definitely asked for the perimeter of the shaded region.

zoogies that was one of the grid ins...it was 8/3 something like that...or 7/3 i dont remember...
quadro...the one with the phone bills was which equation gives the total minutes...and the answer was 555-x+y/y...

hmm.. I seem to only remember 1/3, when it comes to the water removed incrementally problem.

each time you removed water you removed 1/3...but you did that 8 times

okay i remember that one then, i hope that's not the experimental cuz i thought that section was fine. urgh all of these sections are blending together

yeah same here that section was a piece of cake...the other 25 min i had was pretty hard in comparison...

Yeah i had the fish tank one...and i had two different grid in math sections...so i think mine was experimental?

if you had 2 grid in ones...the one that counted was the one where one of the answers was 1600

The verbal sections I remember are...
*Hospital/want to observe the two cultures one
*Theaters
*Angel and her Mother
*Duke Ellington
*Inca thing
*Cloning (2 passages)
can't remember anything else...
did you have these as well? I've heard many others...such as the disneyland and giant squid or something...I didn't have either of these

I think it's apparent at this point that there are many experimental sections, more than one different math and probably more than one verbal as well. It would just be a lot easier if you verify which sections are NOT experimental, and so people could figure out which ones are experimental on their particular version of the test that way.

pimpa10...I actually smiled when I saw the 1600...it was like a tribute to the old SAT...and then i stopped smiling when I realized I had 6 more sections to go sigh

acacia...since your experimental was not math...then you can answer this for me...in your 25 minute math...did you have the telephone question in which the answer was 555-x+y/y...and that other one with a line and a lot of midterms (the answer was 17 for that one)???...or did you have the ying-yang circles one that asked for the perimeter of the shaded region and the answer was 12pi???

everyone had that one i believe...

the ying yang one wasnt in the same section as the telephone one

All the math sections were exceedingly easy... however, that will definitely mess up the curve.

god my experimental math with grid in was awful...anyone get 26.7 or something for the last one? that average speed one?

pimpa...yes i got all the same answers as you (i'm not certain for the 555 one but that looks like the one i got...i just made up numbers and plugged in)
except i said 6pi and i dunno which is right...i'd have to read the question again
it seemed that i had alot of time for verbal and not enough for math

haha, i also smiled at the 1600 thing. for a fleeting moment...

i got 12pi
