Experimental?

What is the experimental?
I kind of sort of know...but not really

Does your getting it wrong or write effect your score?

How does it work?
Thanks.

It is unscored.

It is a section that the Collegeboard uses to test out new types of questions.

instead of taking points off for wrong answers, the College Board executes one kitten for each incorrect response

Nate, i can smell the nerd just wafting off of you.

Do you get credit for right answers?
:P

No, it is not scored.

But I Probably Got It Right :/

ugh I was so upset today when I found out that Emily Bronte CR passage was an experimental! It was so easy too!!

what was that one about?

and the entire section was experimental?

mine was either section 2 or 3 (both 25 minutes/ 20 questions math sec,)

Woah, how do you know which one was experimental?

for CR, i assume that it was the one with 23 questions. because i know that the CR is supposed to be 24,24,19 questions....

how many es sections are on each exam? do all test takers get the same es?

the collegeboard is supposed to put all the test versions on its site a few days after the test (there are usually 5 versions). and they tell you the exp. section that came with each version.

one in each test (out of 10 sections) and it depends on which version of the test you got. I was doing math section when the rest of the kids around me were doing english and vise versa.

Your experimental was one of the sections that you had more than the usual number. If you had 4 CR, one was experimental. If you had 4 M, one was experimental. If you had 3 W, one was experimental.

im not a fan of the experimental aspect. i probably spent a really long time on a hard one that was experimental and it screwed up my actual scores. do you like how optimistic i am...?:D

I figured the emily bronte was the experimental cuz it had 23 questions
the other sections had 24,24,19 for a total of 67

the college board posted the experimental sections on its website

http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/after/highlights.html

mine was the very first version. I was counting on the fact that sec. 2 would be exp...oh well...

I do not approve of having an experimental section.
