Explain how sat scores are calculated

My sister and I took the Dec. Sat and got the same C.R. Score: 720
I missed 5 questions and she missed 4 & omitted 1.

total correct wrong omitted
67 62 5 0
67 62 4 1

How is this possible?

Also, on the first section after the writing section: I screwed up and didn't answer 10 questions. It was the 35 min. section and in my stupor, I thought "ok, 25 min.- 25. questions), so I didn't turn the page. Of course, I distinctly remember such a stupid stupid mistake. But, here's the issue. My SAT on collegeboard says I answered all of the questions. What should I do?

the section that you didnt answer the 10 questions might have been the experimental section that they don’t mark.

There were 2 diff versions of the test, each with their own curve.

Gensis is incorrect is his assumption. Both you and your sister probably had the same test, as the curve was the same for both your test and your sister’s test. You missed 5 questions, resulting in -5 + (-.25 x 5) which is a -6.25 in total. However, SAT rounds in your favor, thus you only miss 6 points in total. Your sister missed 4 and omitted 1, thus her score is calculated by -5 + (-.25 x 4) which is -6 in total. So both of you missed 6 points total on the CR section.

*Remember, the -5 came from the total questions that were not correctly answered, regardless of whether the questions were omitted or missed. The -.25 is the penalty that results from each incorrectly answered question (which means each incorrect answer is -1.25 in total), but there is no penalty for leaving the question blank other than the -1 from not giving the correct answer.

Oops. I didn’t bother to read the entire post lol

Do you really think a 35 min. section was experimental? Well, did anyone here take it? Is there anyone who ordered the Q and A service so we can figure out if it was experimental. I really doubt it was.

There is no 35 minute section.

It was the 35 question section which you’re given 25 minutes to do

Oh, if that’s the case, eloudon should check whether he had two 35 question sections to determine if it was an experimental.

Right, that’s what I meant. Here’s the problem: I don’t have Q and A. I don’t know if I had a second 35 min. section (with 25 questions).

QAS doesn’t have experimental sections

So if I ordered it, I guess I’d know then. Oh well, if that was an experimental section, I’m extremely blessed. Does anyone remember if they got a December SAT with two 35 question writing sections?
