explaining low test scores

im applying to ucs and i am debating whether or not i should explain my low test scores in the 3rd open ended essay topic. i dont want to be making excuses, but will it benefit me if i highlight this weakness? i dont really have a solid reason for the low scores but i was planning on talking about how i am a perfectionist and how i totally blank out when i take tests and how much i learned from this experience so that in the future i can revamp my test taking strategies and recieve more help. is this lame or will it work?? any suggestions will be welcomed.

highlighting your attributes might be a better idea. the point of standardized testing, succesful or no, is to level the playing field because high schools have different grading systems. focusing on your weakness might now work in your favor.

Yes, it's lame. Anyway, UCs care more about GPA, SATs averages are relatively low.
