UC Davis sent me one of those "Immediate Response Requested" emails asking me to explain the gap in my academic history. The gap was a 5 year period. My explanation involves matters rather personal, but I am perfectly comfortable with going into detail about them. In fact, after writing this piece, I thought that this is something I am glad they asked me about because I wasn't given ample room on the UC app to go into it. Considering that I sent this piece to only UC Davis through their portal, is there a way I can make it available to the other UCs as well? I am forecasting that the more holistic admissions offices at Cal and UCLA will request this information when they get to my app, so is there any way I can just offer it to them before hand?

I think when you reply to those immediate response requested mails, the information you send is going to be shared between UC schools you’ve applied to.

I got one from Berkeley and mine says at the bottom:

“Please note: This communication and your response may be shared and reviewed by the following campuses to which you may have applied: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Santa Cruz.”

Yeah, I got a previous email requesting my transcripts that had that note as well and sent me to a general UC messaging system. This one, however, didn’t have that note about it being shared and the messaging system was on a UC Davis site.

UCSD asked me to verify my academic gap too.

How long ago was that, mermaker? Was it through the main UC messaging system or was it SD’s?

It was on January 30th and it seem like both.

This was on the bottom:

Sincerely,

"UC San Diego Undergraduate Admissions

Please note: This communication and your response may be shared and reviewed by the following campuses to which you may have applied: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Santa Cruz."

Mine told me to list name of high shcools i went to… idk why they would need my high school information… does anyone know why? do you guys think these are just random audits?

Probably just making sure everything on your app is properly recorded. Was your high school out of state?

The first one of these kinds of emails that I got initiated by UCSB and shared with the other schools was asking for copies of all my transcripts. I emailed it back to them in about an hour an got accepted two days later.

First off, I’ve read a post by Ms Sun somewhere on this forum before who said it’s pretty standard for transfers to get these.

Secondly, I think it’s probably a good sign. If it’s information that you have included on your UC app and they are asking for proof, it seems likely that it’s just a final check for accuracy and truthfulness before stamping an acceptance. If the decision was a rejection, why would they go through the motions of asking for it? Just my theory.
