explanation please!

what does under represented mean ? what are underrepresented countries ? and what are student’s chances from those countries ? please help i’m lost!

It means students from a region of the world, or a country, that are not well represented at a university. For example, most of SubSaharan Africa would be considered under-represented.

@MYOS1634 oh okay; and what chances of admission do they hold ?

At the few colleges and universities that care where their international students are from, if there are two applicants who are otherwise equal and there is only one space left, the one from the country they have no students from will get in.

However, most colleges and universities don’t care at all where their international students are from, so your chance of admission is not improved at all just by being from an under-represented country.

It depends who “they” are, what colleges we’re talking about, and how the individual student compares to the college as well as its competition from within the same region.
