difference in definition and use of which and that</p>

<p>1) C, because it doesn’t match up with present tense “defend”
2) don’t know
3) D, dunno, sounds right. I think wherein can be replaced with “in which”, and it makes sense. I think it’s one of those idiom things.
4) A, both in present tense.
5) A, because D and E’s verbs don’t match up, C doesn’t work because it is not an appositive phrase, and B doesn’t work because it makes it sound like the century is revolting.
6) D, it is in present tense when it needs to be in past. “that caused the trolley’s…”</p>

<p>Not sure about a few of these, anyone care to correct me?</p>

3) C, it should be “whereby” - just consult a dictionary to find the meaning of wherein and whereby</p>
