Hey, I am a rising sophomore in high school and want to go to a summer program called Explo. Is it worth my time or not? I was planning on taking this camp and then summers after take more agressive summer programs at yale and brown, but i don't know yet.

if you have gone to explo, tell me what you though about it!

I've gone for the past two summers. It was fun, but if your looking to stack your app it is a waste of time. You won't walk away from it any better off college wise.

It depends what you want out of your summer. Explo basically is a recreational summer camp for kids in high school. There's a carnival on one night, classes of how to make macaroni necklaces, the history of videogaming, etc. Nothing that would be considered "profound", but if you are willing to spend the money (I believe it's $1000+), it's good for a low-stress, recreational summer time.

HarvardHopeful: Don't go to Explo if you're a Harvard hopeful. I went one summer and I'm certainly not going back. Sure it was fun and all when I was 14 but
1. WAY too many rules. And as a European, it was quite frankly a shock.
2. Not serious at all.

Do something more constructive such as community service or travelling. You will get more out of it.
