I emailed asking, results are coming out tonight!

got nothing so far are you sure it is coming out tonight?

I emailed earlier and got this response:
“Thank you for your message. Decisions for the Explore Bowdoin 2 program are going out this evening. You will find your decision in your portal”

However, it is 8:10 PM CST and I have yet to receive a decision on my portal. Anybody else?

@successful92 I have also been periodically checking my portal this evening-- it still says I am a “candidate.”

got nothing .

Check your inboxes-- Bowdoin sent me my update status around two hours ago.

For those who got accepted, would you mind explaining a bit about your situation and why you think you got accepted? I heard it was really competitive this year.

@coffee114 I think what worked for me was that my application tied in my academic and personal interests with my tangible experiences a.k.a. extracurriculars. As cliche as it sounds, when you apply to these fly-in programs, or colleges for that matter, try your best to weave an image of yourself not only as a student but also a person— be yourself, be authentic, and be honest!

For example, my EC’s heavily revolve around a specific volunteering program and my cultural community. My potential major(s) also center around the issues facing my community and I write about what I am passionate about, what grinds my gears, what I hope to accomplish in the future. That is what I think sets candidates apart from each other— admissions officers can “get a feel” for that passion when they read your writing. Test scores, GPA’s, and courses can only help so much to distinguish the cream from the crop.

Hope this helps!
